Pleased So Far With Mystics Off-season

Sheila Johnson and I are very pleased with the work done this off-season regarding the Washington Mystics.

The changes began with our hiring of Mike Thibault as our new GM and coach. We communicate just about every day with Mike, and I am so pleased that he has embraced Monumental Sports and Entertainment and the fans in DC in a BIG WAY. He and his family attend just about every Caps and Wizards game, and we get the chance to talk about the team and what we have to do to improve with regularity and consistency.

Mike is in our offices often and he also has been scouting college players for this coming draft.

Mike is experienced in the WNBA. He knows our team well from having competed against us for so many years. He targeted that we needed an additional post player and a point guard to help immediately improve our team for next season. In about a month's time, he has made two trades for a point guard and a post player, see here and here - and he did it without taking anything of major importance out of the lineup. And we still have retained the 4th pick in the draft.

So far - so good.
