Land of the Free?

One hundred and fifty years after the Emancipation Proclamation, and despite enormous social growth in America, the fear of change continues to hinder justice and equality within our country.

The southern town of Charleston, Mississippi hosted their first integrated high school prom in the spring of 2008 (funded by actor Morgan Freeman) to the chagrin of some of their neighbors.  “Prom Night In Mississippi” tells the stories of these students on the most memorable night of their high school experiences, and makes clear how much further we have yet to grow as one nation.
