Final Four. DC 2024

The U.S. Olympic Committee announced today that Washington, D.C., along with Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco have been identified as candidates for a potential U.S. bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This is obviously very exciting news, as everyone helping organize DC 2024 has been working extremely hard to bring the Summer Olympics to Washington.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Virginia, Maryland and D.C. to showcase our thriving community to the world, and we have the infrastructure, passion and commitment to become a tremendous host city. This is a big endeavor for the DMV, and there is a lot of work ahead as the USOC continues to research and make a decision on whether or not to bid and which city will be selected if a bid is pursued. But I know we can rally as a community and show the USOC and the world that the 2024 Olympic Games belong in our nation’s capital!

Check out the USOC’s release, and for more information on the selection of the four potential U.S. bid cities
