The Game Had Everything

A goal in the first period on the first shift by Ovechkin. I thought Alex could have had five goals last night. He scored one, hit the post twice, missed an open net with the goalie sitting on the bench and had the puck on his stick with an empty net again but passed it away.

A goal on Buffalo's first shift to tie it up in the second period. Lights out during a power surge.

A local hero attended the game and got a standing ovation from our fans. Kudos to Katie Ledecky - and her gold medal was admired after the game by the coaches and the players.

And the fans all got wings!

A fun 5-3 victory, moving us up a bit in the standings. We are six points out of the eighth spot, and seven points behind the Jets who we play twice. Back to back in their barn this week.

Our next game is against Pittsburgh on Tuesday night and we also play Sunday in NYC at MSG. So four road games this week, a very demanding schedule. We lost another player tonight to injury and we played yet again with only five defense men.
